About

Harman is an emerging film writer/director based in Edmonton, Treaty 6 territory.Her debut short film, chakar, had its premiere at the 2021 Reel Asian International Film Festival as well as the 2022 Minikino Film Week and Cheongju International Short Film Festival. She is currently in pre-production for her forthcoming second short film, [sleep feels too much like death].

chakar, 2021 (short film): director, writer, editor
based on the personalities of the various women who have shaped Harman's life, chakar tells the story of a Balli, a young woman who encounters a mysterious figure on the side of a road in rural Alberta. Injecting bits of humour and existential dread, the film is an ode to the generational knowledge of Punjabi women.
